Blenheim Wedding

A small but perfectly formed solution for Blenheim
Reece Productions helped a wedding get off to a swinging night between Christmas and New Year, with another tidy installation of Kv2 hire stock. The brief was to liaise between the requirements of the evenings artist, Rick Astley with his six piece band, and the needs of the management at Blenheim Palace. Of course, both the bride and groom also had a large say on the final production, looking for a clean and un-cluttered appearance, so negotiation was the watch word for the event.
'This is exactly the type of show we have aimed our hire stock at' says Director, James Reece-Ford. 'The Kv2 delivers an amazingly accurate and controlled sound, whilst offering a small footprint. We used EX10 active speakers and our TT24 mixer for monitors, and, at Rick's engineers request, a Midas Venice for FOH duties. As there was no multicore system on the job (everything needed to be mixed from side of stage) we hired-in a pair of 12ch KT active splits to provide a feed to each mixer.
The Orangery at Blenheim only has a few 13amp sockets around the room, but, by lighting the stage with a pair of 500watt frenels either side, and then utilising colourblock to wash the windows upstage to provide colour and texture, we kept everything, including audio, down to four 13amp sockets!'
